Carrillo, Camaronal & Islita
Playa Carrillo, in our opinion, is the most beautiful beach we've ever been to — the picture-perfect example of what a beach should look like. Think of the posters people hang in their office; that's Carrillo. We spent many days there, relaxing into the evening and watching the sun set.
Playa Camaronal is black sand and very natural, with huge waves that make it bad for swimming — but you might catch baby turtles hatching. Islita has a nice resort with a pool near the beach, though the beach itself is rocky and natural. We loved each spot for its own reasons and went back to all of them many times.
