Our honest take: 25 GB is more than many travelers think — if you're mostly on WiFi and using mobile data for navigation and messaging, Light genuinely covers it and saves money. But if you tether for work, or you're running your whole life on the plan the way we do, Unlimited's unlimited hotspot and no-cap data are worth the difference. We use Unlimited because it's our sole connectivity and we tether constantly — but we'd honestly point a lighter user to Light rather than upsell them.

• Maps/navigation — very light; you could navigate all month on a small fraction of it
