We first visited Flamingo in November 2020 and didn't get the best weather — but every trip after was better. The beach has very nice light sand, you get amazing sunsets, and Potrero isn't far for a more chilled vibe and a couple of restaurants along the beach.

We liked our visits to the Flamingo and Potrero area.

What we'd tell a friend

  1. Stay in Potrero — unless you want a view, then stay up above Flamingo.
  2. Visit Playa Conchal.
  3. Try some craft beer.
  4. Visit Big Mama's Kitchen and Coco Loco.

Questions we actually get

Is Playa Flamingo worth visiting?

Yes — light sand, great sunsets, and Potrero close by for a chiller vibe. It's a solid beach-vacation base if you don't mind driving between spots.

How many days do you need?

Four to seven, depending on how much you want to explore Flamingo, Potrero, Brasilito, and Conchal.

Do you need a car?

Recommended. The beaches and restaurants are spread out and walkability is low.
